Because of the stigma that still exists against queer romance, writers have to be a lot more delicate and deliberate in telling those stories which leads to them being higher quality, whereas people writing het romance can rely on the audience’s assumption that a relatively attractive man and woman who don’t get along are meant to be together which is just really uninteresting.
